| Artist: Mayumi Utsunomiya Work: ishiki-moon Concept: Onto metal that carries the memory of the cosmos, I project the presence of stone, which carries the memory of the earth. Born from this act, ishiki calls to mind the moon. It resonates with the memories held deep within us, expanding our consciousness. Each work I name ishiki may or may not have a function, but what they share is this: the presence of stone reflected onto metal, and a common "sound" embedded in their names. This, I believe, means they share the same energy, and I think there is meaning in that fact. Secretly, I think of these as devices for expanding consciousness, though they remain, above all, experiments born from my own dreaming.
