Ryukyu Indigo Dye
Ryukyu indigo is an ancient Okinawan indigo dyeing .
Raw material is a perennial plant in the "Kitsunenomago" family called "yama-ai".
Branches and leaves are cut in summer and winter, soaked in water and fermented,
and the indigo is used in a muddy state.
The garment is dyed 15-30 times in layers in the indigo dye to resulting in a vivid purple-blue color.
It is a one of a kind color that develops a vivid, deep, hue over time.
